Symposium Topics

The FM 2005 meetings welcome the submission of research papers in the following:


£­ Aging of metals and polymers
£­ Effects of high temperatures and moistures
£­ Environment assisted cracking and failure
£­ Multiscale modeling of physical systems
£­ Nanoscale behavior of matter and device
£­ Chemical instability
£­ Atomistic simulation models and applications
£­ Interatomic potentials for two or more interacting atoms
£­ Monitoring and defect detecting methodologies
£­ Structure failure in contrast to malfunction of micron size device
£­ Safety issues associated with engineering materials and products
£­ New laws for small scale matters and those used by tradition.

Other topics at both the macroscopic and nanoscopic scale are also welcome, particularly in showing the difference in behavior when the scale is changed.
